How To Install Clementine in Centos 6

Clementine is my favorite audio player in Linux. I dont have a problem when install this player in Ubuntu or Linux Mint. But, when I use Centos 6.3, I dont get the installer in some of repo (epel, rpmfusion). So, I try to get other repos with this software support. When searching at google, I get a Franz’s repo for this software and I try to add this repo in my Centos.

This is steps how to install clementine in Centos 6 using Franz’s Repo :

  • Install the repo installer. You can this rpm repo installer with command  : rpm -i ftp://castiel.servebeer.com/pub/rhel/6/franz-release-latest.noarch.rpm.
  • If the first steps success, you will get three franz repository at our /etc/yum.repos.d/. Open the three franz repository and set enabled value to 1 (/etc/yum.repos.d/franz-copies.repo, /etc/yum.repos.d/franz-ruby_192.repo, /etc/yum.repos.d/franz-various.repo).
  • install clementine program with command : yum install clementine.x86_64

If you have a problem with “protected multilib versions error”  glib2-2.22.5-7.el6.i686 and glib2-2.30.3-1.el6_3.x86_64, you can use this method to solve that problem :

  • remove glib2-2.22.5-7.el6.i686 program with command : rpm -e glib2-2.22.5-7.el6.i686 –nodeps
  • install clementine program with command : yum install clementine.x86_64
  • install again glib2-2.22.5-7.el6.i686 with command : rpm -i –force ftp://ftp.muug.mb.ca/mirror/centos/6.3/os/x86_64/Packages/glib2-2.22.5-7.el6.i686.rpm

I have successed install Clementine in my Centos 6 with this command (how to install clementine in Centos 6). I think this method more simple than install from the source. If you have other method how to install clementine in Centos 6, please that method.
